Biology
 
Content: 
You will participate in a wide range of activities to develop your knowledge of biology and your ability to solve problems in your everyday experience. There is a lot of emphasis on practical work conducted in the laboratory and in the field. There is a minimum time commitment for field work of 10 hours. During practical activities you will learn to examine collected data, suggest hypotheses that explain observations, and design and conduct experiments.
This is a new, student-centred, activity-based course developed to meet the requirements of the new syllabus. The structure is as follows:

A Sound Achievement in Year 10 Science is the preferred minimum requirement for success in Biology.
 
Career Pathways:   Biology is a foundation subject for further studies in such areas as: Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, Chiropractic, Clinical Laboratory Techniques, Environmental Science, Forestry, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Medical Technology, Speech Therapy.
