You will study Business Communication and Technologies through a contextual approach – Financial Institutions, Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, Conference Management, Retailing. The subject will provide you with the opportunity to develop skills in information communication and technology throughout the course. You will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of computer software to complete tasks. You will learn how to conduct meetings effectively; the procedures for processing correspondence in the business environment; the procedures for preparing financial records (banking, petty cash, payroll); international business communication; develop organisational skills and work team communication. Your computer skills will also be developed so that you become a competent user of applications.
 
Embedded in this subject is Certificate II in Business issued to students who demonstrate success on the 12 Units of Competency.
 
Assessment: You will be required to complete four to five assessment pieces each semester. These assessment pieces will be in-class tests, research work, teacher observation, oral presentations and computer application tasks.
 
Career Pathways: If you want to pursue a career in some of the following: Public Administration, Legal, Banking, Retail, Tourism & Hospitality, Insurance, Travel, Business Management, Human Resources, then studying Business Communication and Technologies will be an advantage for you.
