Career Pathways: Despite common beliefs, dance offers many viable employment opportunities, especially in the area of teaching. Currently in Queensland there is a massive shortage of high school Dance Teachers, as dance studies continue to be offered in more and more schools each year. Other related employment opportunities include, dance companies, musicals, teaching in universities or private studios, film clips, bands, drama, modelling, directing, choreography, analysis, administration, stage management, sound, lighting and writing.
Costs: Covered by Resource Hire Scheme plus individual student levy to cover the costs of costumes, make-up and props for curriculum-based performances. There will be a number of visits to professional dance performances with a cost of approximately $40 per year.
