Content
The new senior Physical Education course devotes equal time to theoretical and practical learning experiences. Subject matter is taught across three focus areas.

A:  Learning Physical Skills
 
  • learning and improving skills
  • psychology of learning skills
  • biomechanical bases of learning skills
B:  Process and Effects of Training and Exercise
 
  • understanding the relationship between training and performance
  • energy for physical activity (and elite performance)
C:  Sport, Physical Activity and Exercise in the context of Australian Society
 
  • body, culture and physical activity
  • lifestyle, leisure, recreation and physical activity
  • money, media, power and physical activity
 
The content you will be taught in and through four physical activities across the two year course:
  • Golf
  • Volleyball
  • Tennis
  • Touch
Assessment: 50% Theory, 50% Practical
 
Career Pathways:  Possible careers for you include Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Doctors, Sports Trainers, Exercise Physiologists, Fitness Leaders, Rehabilitation Consultants, Physical Education Teachers and many more…
 
Costs: Covered by Resource Hire Scheme plus individual student levy to cover additional cost for Physical Education requirements plus cost of occasional excursions.
