Assessment: All skills have equal importance and by the end of the course there will be an equal balance across the skills and this will be reflected in the assessment tasks. Each semester there will be two tests in each skill area. Exit Assessment at the end of Year 12 will be based on tests and student’s work which will be recorded on Folio and Student Profile.
Career Pathways: As with all foreign language study, career options are varied and exciting; for example: - international telephone operators; foreign news correspondents; translators of books, articles, and reviews; advertising for ethnic or foreign markets; film production and entertainment media; simultaneous interpreters; editors for university and other presses; receptionists, secretaries, and sales personnel; fashion buyers; personnel managers; public relations experts; textbook representatives and salespeople; business executives; representatives for foreign companies; international banking and finance; international lawyers and patent attorneys; income tax consultants and accountants in ethnic communities; specialists for import/export firms; nursing in ethnic communities; law enforcement officers; public assistance interviewers; the list goes on.
