Business and Technology in Society

 
Content: When you study Business and Technology in Society you will learn:
  • how to be entrepreneurial and market a product for the business venture you operate;
  • how to manage your finances, prepare a budget and learn about e-commerce;
  • record-keeping procedures for business;
  • how to trade shares by participating in the ASX Sharemarket Game and prepare an analytical report
  • learn about the work environment ie. The rights and responsibilities of employees and employers as well as workplace skills and behaviours
You will also use computer applications used by businesses:
  • MYOB for electronic accounting and payroll;
  • Excel for record-keeping and to prepare budgets
 
Assessment: You will be required to complete three to four assessment pieces per semester. Your assessment will be practical with some theory. 
 
Costs: Covered by Resource Hire Scheme.
