Competitions throughout the year provide talented Indooroopilly State High School students with challenging environments in which to apply their skills and develop their understanding and application of Mathematics and Engineering to real world scenarios.
One of this year’s highlights was our involvement in the Young ICT Explorers Competition.
Indro’s Maths and Engineering program tries to incorporate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) elements wherever possible to enhance students’ learning. Our students’ excellence in ICT resulted in four teams, with students from Years 7 to 11, entering ICT projects in the competition.
The Young ICT Explorers competition encourages school students to create their best ICT related projects. Students demonstrate their ICT skills and showcase a wide range of technologies used to solve everyday problems relevant to students’ lives.
The teams worked together for weeks in advance of the competition to develop an ICT project they felt would benefit our society. All the teams created excellent projects and gave outstanding presentations to a panel of judges.
