Welcome to Indro’s Online Learning blog. We’re sharing stories, experiences and tips from Indooroopilly State High School students and teachers as Online Learning evolves during the first five weeks of Term 2 and we work to stay connected as a school community in these unprecedented circumstances.
Year 8 artists at home
Year 8 students worked hard on the first piece of assessment for Visual Media Technology (VMT) during their first three weeks of learning at home this term. In term 1, students investigated the works of artists who incorporated the genres of interior, still life and landscapes within their own works. Students then developed skills in different drawing techniques and materials to document interior, exterior and constructed or imagined scenes based on their surroundings.
Many of the artworks submitted by students conveyed their experiences and feelings about working from home during this time, as well as their new-found appreciation for activities they are unable to do at the moment. Students demonstrated their skills and knowledge learned in Term 1 and continued to work on their drawings through the guidance of their teachers online. On behalf of all the VMT teachers, we are very proud of the students and how they have shown so much resilience, creative thinking and problem-solving ability during this time.
