Hi, my name is Fiona and I am the School-Based Youth Health Nurse for Indooroopilly State High School.

I am at school on Wednesday and Thursday. You can find me in the Health Nurse Room located in the Student Services Block.

The role of the School Based Youth Health Nurse is to promote the health and wellbeing of students, staff and the wider school community with a focus on prevention and early intervention.

This is achieved through:

  • one on one individual consultations
  • co-facilitating group or classroom health education and health promotion sessions
  • providing recommendations to support curriculum teaching and learning activities

All individual consultations are voluntary, confidential, non-judgemental and available for all students. They involve assessment, brief intervention and/or referral as needed.

Young people can self-refer or be referred by parents or staff (in consultation with the young person) - please contact me or Student Services toorganise an appointment.

Contact Student Services on (07) 3327 8306.
