Welcome back to our new and continuing Year 11 students, Parents and Carers.
The Year 11 students are entering an exciting new chapter in their Senior Schooling, whether their educational journey explores the new QCAA system, the International Baccalaureate or various Vocational Education courses.
Throughout Year 11, students have many opportunities to be actively involved in a variety of extra-curricular events, programs and activities, where students can look forward to celebrating their successes and explore new challenges.
Our first activity for the year is the Year 11 Social on Friday 25 March, where new and existing students are able to meet and bond in a social setting at the Victoria Park Golf Club. More information and permission forms will be distributed to students in their first week of on campus learning.
Additional activities students can look forward to this year include Leadership Day (Term 3), and various leadership activities throughout the year, culminating in Senior Leader Elections going into Year 12, preparing students to become the future leaders of our school community.
Students have received a Senior Handbook and attached Senior Agreement. Please take the time to read through the Handbook carefully. Senior Agreements need to be signed by the Parent/Carer and returned to the student's Connect teacher by Monday 14 February. Any student that does not return a completed Senior Agreement will be required to remain at school on Wednesday Period 4.
My role is to support our Year 11 students, Parents/Carers and staff to ensure that students have an enjoyable and rewarding Year 11 experience while developing practices that will set them up for their final year of schooling.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me on akmas0@eq.edu.au or (07) 3327 8334.
I look forward to an exciting year with all of our Year 11 students.
Kind regards,
Alyiki Piva
Year 11 Coordinator
