Welcome to Year 7 at Indooroopilly State High School. I look forward to working with our Year 7s as they begin their high school journey. Many activities, clubs and sporting opportunities will be on offer throughout the year; students are encouraged to listen to the morning notices each day and ask teachers about these in order to make sure they can participate and have the best Year 7.
Camp
Camp is a wonderful way for students to engage with their classmates and teachers, challenge themselves and build leadership skills. Camp will be in Week 5 (24-26 February or 26-28 February) in First Term. Half of the Year 7s will attend Monday – Wednesday; the other half will attend Wednesday – Friday. The medical, permission and payment forms are available here on the school website. Please ensure these forms are returned by Friday 7 February.
Being organised
To help students prepare for classes, everyone has a Student Organiser. This is a valuable tool to help students track homework, assessment, timetables and school policies. It is essential that the Student Organiser comes to all classes and is up to date. In the latter part of Term 1, this will move to a digital platform, more information to follow.
Who to contact
Your student’s first point of contact each day will be their Connect teacher so please ask your students about their Connect teacher – email is the best way to contact Connect teachers, subject teachers and Year Coordinators or Heads of Department.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email on bcare31@eq.edu.au or 3327 8382. Any student absences can be communicated through Student Services via studentservices@indoorooshs.eq.edu.au or text to 0429 347 300.
Further information is available here on the school website.
2020 promises to be an exciting year filled with many new experiences and opportunities. I look forward to working closely with Parents, Carers and Students throughout the year.
