Indooroopilly State High’s International Student Programs provides a positive, safe, inclusive and engaging experience for all students. It does this through a caring environment by actions of experienced, supportive staff and through quality learning programs.
Our school has been foremost in developing and delivering an excellent International Student Graduate Program (ISP) which is recognised as a leader in this state.
The International Student Program at Indooroopilly State High School consists of the High School Preparation Program for International Students and Secondary Schooling for International Students studying in Australia on visa subclass 500 (schools sector).
We have a long tradition of welcoming students from overseas nations and are proud of our many students who have gone on to universities in Queensland, other Australian states and overseas and graduated with distinction.
Indooroopilly State High School offers a very supportive, multicultural environment in which our international students are invited to make a cultural contribution. Many Australian families choose to enrol their children at our school because of the presence of so many students from other cultures.
If you would like to enrol your student at Indooroopilly State High School you will need to contact EQI in the first instance. For International Student Program enrolment enquiries please contact Education Queensland International (EQI). To submit an enrolment application to EQI please visit https://eqi.com.au/apply-now.
Graduate students integrate into our mainstream secondary school. They undertake a course of study which is approved by the Queensland Studies Authority or may choose to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. An extensive support service is made available to our students so that they graduate and follow a future pathway of their choosing.

Aviation
Aviation is a subject for students who are looking forward to either a career in aviation or flying for pleasure. During Years 10, 11 and 12, students are able to enrol in Aviation as an additional non-ATAR subject. Students go to a flying school at the Archerfield Airport each week during the year. Initially students work towards performing their first solo and must be 15 years of age to do so. Students work towards a Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) and then, after successfully completing navigation flights, gain a Private Pilot Licence. Students will be required to pay their chosen flying school each week for their lesson. This is a pay-as-you-go arrangement with the hire rate of an aircraft and instructor plus landing fees, meaning that each flying week costs between $300 and $400 (Total cost approx. $22 000). The theory, comprising Flight Radio Operator’s Licence (FROL), Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) and Private Pilot Licence Theory (PPL), is studied during Wednesday A and study at home. Topics include: aircraft familiarisation, aviation terminology, communications, aircraft general knowledge and control, rules and procedures of flight, theory of flight, meteorology and navigation.
