Welcome to Year 8, 2025!

My name is Jarrod Goltz, and I am excited to introduce myself as the Head of Year 8 at Indooroopilly State High School. As I step into the role, I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and the wider school community. My goal is to support each student as they navigate the exciting opportunities - and challenges - of Year 8, ensuring they feel encouraged to keep going and keep growing on their journey to personal success.

Year 8 is a time of discovery, development, and strengthening connections. This year, students can look forward to a range of events, including Sports Carnivals, excursions, extracurricular activities and clubs, the school musical, Learning Progress Meetings, and much more. I encourage all students to get involved, try new things, and make the most of what our school has to offer. 

I am passionate about the value of education and assisting students to be confident and capable young people, with a focus on strong communication skills, who are ready to navigate the world through their chosen pathway.

A strong partnership between school and home is key to student success. Open Communication, one of our school values, will allow us to provide the best support possible. I encourage families to reach out and connect with the learning of their student, and if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please contact me through email or the school phone number.
