My name is Kimberly Whitehouse and I am excited to be the Head of Year 9 this year. I have been working in education for 15 years in schools across NSW and Brisbane, with experience teaching in both metropolitan and rural communities. I have previously been a Head of Department - Science for six years and have had the privilege of being Head of Year for both Year 10 and Year 12 at Indooroopilly State High School.
Year 9 is a wonderful year for students to experience curriculum offerings, through electives students will try a range of new subjects and prepare for the their move into the senior school. This year is all about growing as an individual, strengthening connection to the school community and students gaining confidence in themselves. Central to everything we do is student wellbeing, and it is my role to support the students and their families throughout their journey this year. At Indooroopilly State High School we value each person's dignity, our communities diversity, open communication and quality learning. Our wellbeing program integrates each of these values and supports Year 9 students throughout the year.
I am looking forward to working with students and their families to ensure that each student has the opportunity to achieve their personal best in all aspects of their school life this year.
