Written by students, for students.
In this program, students will be responsible for the research, writing and publication of Student News at Indooroopilly State High School. In Term 1, students will develop a discerning understanding of reading and writing news media, which will then be used to investigate and report on student life across the school in Term 2-Term 4. Students will also be responsible for the development and publishing of the school Yearbook, drawing on their skills as reporters developed across the year.
Students in Years 9-11 are able to apply for this program, though all students will have opportunities to engage with the Student Newsletter throughout the year. Participants will be expected to investigate and report on events that take place outside of the scheduled program time/school day dependent on the school events calendar. Students wishing to participate will submit an example of their work which demonstrates their writing style and passion for writing and storytelling.
