Indooroopilly State High School has a thriving Instrumental Music Program. By playing a musical instrument, students gain opportunities to extend their musicality and meet other students.
Indooroopilly State High School offers a variety of musical ensembles ranging from Con Brio Strings and Concert Band, designed for Junior Secondary school musicians, through to our Symphony Orchestra.
The Symphony Orchestra enables our more experienced and skilled musicians playing Brass, Woodwind, Strings and Percussion to play challenging and exciting repertoire together.
The Instrumental Music Program provides tuition during school hours in Woodwind, Brass, Percussion and Strings instruments.
Ensemble experience is provided through participation in the ensembles and other smaller groups outside of school hours or during the lunch hour.
Attendance at these groups is compulsory and an integral part of the Instrumental Music Program. Tuition classes take place on a small group basis with approximately 3-6 students of similar ability level learning together.
Our ensembles participate in a variety of performance opportunities regularly, including externally-organised festivals such as Fanfare and Music Fest.
