In 2025, Indooroopilly State High School is launching an exciting new Year 10 Work Experience Program, designed to provide all Year 10 students with valuable real-world exposure to the workplace. This initiative will see every student engage in structured work experience, beginning with a Work Experience Launch Event in Term 1 and culminating in a two-day placement in Term 2. By embedding workplace learning into the Year 10 experience, we aim to strengthen students' employability skills, deepen their understanding of career pathways, and enhance their connections between classroom learning and industry expectations. Through partnerships with our Alumni, Parent community, and local businesses, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities that support our students in developing confidence, independence, and career awareness.

Work Experience Launch – Term 1, Week 10

As part of the Year 10 Work Experience Program, we're hosting a Work Experience Launch Event in Term 1, Week 10. This event will showcase the value of workplace learning and feature insights from Indro Alumni working in:

  • Health and Medicine
  • Science and Engineering
  • Society and Culture
  • Commerce and Economics

Students will have the opportunity to hear from professionals in these fields, ask questions, and start considering potential placements that suit their current interests.

Two Days of Work Experience – Term 2, Week 10

A key part of the Year 10 Work Experience Program is the two-day placement in Term 2, Week 10 (Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 June). All Year 10 students will participate in Work Experience during these days.

Students can secure a placement through various pathways, including:

  • Family or friends who may provide opportunities.
  • Calling local businesses to explore placements independently.

If you need support to find a potential placement, please reach out to: Senior Secondary Administration – Ms Spasojevic or Head of Year 10 – Mr Whitby

If you or someone in your network is able to host a student for Work Experience, we invite you to support this program. Please click on this link or use the QR code to register your interest.
