Chess Tournaments
In terms 1, 2 and 3, Indro students are invited to register their interest to take part in the Gardiner Interschool Chess Tournament, in the Brisbane Secondary North division. Students attend the tournaments, which are held at various schools within the division once per term. These tournaments are professionally run under license from the Chess Association of Queensland.
In addition, the explosion of interest in chess has prompted some of our students to host our own school-based Chess tournament. These tournaments, held in terms 2 and 3 during lunch times, allow students to compete in friendly competition with their peers to win points for their school house and individual prizes.
Anime and Manga Competition
Every year, Indro holds a competition allows students to display both their artistic talents and love for anime and manga. Now in it's 10th year, the competition runs from late term 2 to the middle of term 3, allowing students time over the holidays to work on their masterpieces. After the competition concludes, the student's are pieces are displayed in the student centre, and prizes are awarded to the top 3 art pieces and a top prize in our new digital category. Students also have the change to vote on their favourite piece to win the coveted 'People's Choice' aware and prizes.
