The ISHS Aspire Football Program is a high-quality extra-curricular development pathway for motivated and talented footballers across the Junior and Senior Boys' and Girls' cohorts at Indooroopilly State High School. The program is designed to support the holistic development of student-athletes, combining technical football development with the growth of leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal responsibility.
Students are selected through open trials held late in Term 4, with squads formed to participate in structured training and competitive fixtures throughout Terms 1–3. The Aspire program places a strong emphasis on high-quality coaching, clear playing principles and consistent standards, ensuring students develop both individually and collectively as part of a unified football culture at Indro.
A key strength of the program is its strong connection with Taringa Rovers Football Club, providing additional access to quality facilities and strengthening pathways between school and community football. This partnership allows Aspire squads to utilise Jack Speare Park for selected training sessions and fixtures, giving players valuable experience in a club football environment while further embedding the program within the local football community.
The Aspire program is also committed to continual improvement through modern coaching practices and performance analysis. The recent introduction of HUDL camera technology enables matches and training sessions to be recorded and reviewed, allowing coaches and players to analyse performance, reinforce tactical understanding and identify areas for development. This evidence-based approach supports a reflective learning culture and helps players build deeper game awareness.
Training sessions are typically conducted once per week before or after school, with additional opportunities for competition and development throughout the year. Aspire teams proudly represent Indooroopilly State High School in major school competitions including the Bill Turner Cup, Uhlsport Cup, ISSA Cup and Gala Day tournaments, providing students with meaningful competitive experiences against strong opposition.
Through a commitment to high standards, strong partnerships and continuous development, the ISHS Aspire Football Program is building a progressive football culture that supports student success both on and off the field.
Trials for 2027 program will occur in September-October of 2026. Please note, only students enrolled in Indooroopilly SHS for 2027 are eligible to trial.
